Hunter Safety Training (Camp Rotary)

Event Details

All first-time hunters born on or after Jan. 1, 1960 are required to take and pass a hunter safety course. You will not be able to purchase a base license (other than an apprentice license) unless you can prove successful completion of a hunter safety course.

Hunter education courses teach new hunters responsibility, ethics, firearm safety, wildlife conservation and wildlife identification, game care, survival and first aid. Courses are offered year-round throughout the state, and cover 10 hours of instruction time.

This course will be open to the first 45 participants who sign up.  It is a 1-day course, starting at 9:00am and running through 8:00pm with a 1/2 hour break for lunch and dinner each.

The cost of the course is $10.00 per person and will include the following:

  • All Hunter Safety course materials
  • Access to camp firearms & ammunition for live fire exercise
  • Snacks & drinks available throughout the day

Participants are required to bring the following:

  • Pencil
  • Paper
  • Sack Lunch
  • Sack Dinner

A refrigerator & microwave will be available for participants to use.

NO PERSONAL FIREARMS OR AMMUNITION ARE PERMITTED TO BE BROUGHT TO THIS COURSE!
