Rescue at the Ranch

Event Details

The Blue Water District Presents
Rescue at the Ranch
May 2-4, 2025

Join us in a two-night “high adventure” camporee hosted at D-Bar-A Scout Ranch. The event focuses on the Search & Rescue & Wilderness Survival merit badges. Scouts attending will rotate among stations during this exciting program, learning and practicing skills along the way to earn one, or both, of the badges. Meet the US Coast Guard, local police, fire and rescue agencies, Search and Rescue organizations and participate in many hands-on activities throughout the weekend.

To prepare for the event, it is suggested scouts read and are familiar with each merit badge pamphlet, bring a note pad and pencil (or a printout of the PDF worksheet to take notes) and complete pre-requisite work.

- For the Wilderness Survival merit badge, scouts should put together a personal survival kit and bring it to the event. Scouts should also become familiar with the seven priorities for survival and be able to explain the importance of each.

- For the Search & Rescue merit badge, scouts should find out who in their area has authority for search and rescue and what their responsibilities are.

Of course, an exceptional program needs exceptional volunteers. Interested in assisting, please contact scouter48197@gmail.com
