WHAT: A fun, action-packed day of hands-on exposure to Coast Guard rescue techniques and equipment.

WHEN: Saturday, September 17, 2022. Rain date is September 24, 2022. Any decision to move the event to the rain-date will be made by 5pm on Friday, September 16, 2022. (Key dates)

WHO: This event is sponsored jointly by the United States Coast Guard Sector Maryland-National Capital Region, United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, FOSSOM Inc., and Sea Scouts BSA. This co-ed event is open to all registered Sea Scouts and Venturers. No scout under the age of 14 may attend.

Attending Adult Leaders are advised they are not to interfere with the Coast Guard program leads. Units are limited to the 2 adult leaders required to comply with Youth Protection Guidelines.

WHERE: United States Coast Guard Yard, 2401 Hawkins Point Road, Baltimore, MD 21226

PARKING: Parking will only be available for those staying for Safety at Sea. There will be designated drop off and pick up zones on the Coast Guard Yard that are available for drivers. Participants should be prepared to walk and do a modest amount of climbing. The Coast Guard vessels are not handicap accessible.

UNIFORMS: The uniform of the day for youth and adults will be the Official Sea Scout Uniform (aka TOSSU) as illustrated at https://seascout.org/uniforming/. Participants will be issued a t-shirt to wear at the event. The t-shirt is included in registration.

COVID-19: Please be mindful of the COVID-19 protocols at the time of this event. It would be advisable to bring a face mask.

Closed-toe shoes must be worn. Flip-flops, open toe shoes, and similar footwear are not allowed. Attendees not wearing proper shoes will not be allowed to participate.
