Event Details

BACK TO THE WOODS - 2023 Carroll District Camporee

We're excited to bring back the Carroll District Camporee.  This year we're all going BACK TO THE WOODS for a fun adventure. Units from Carroll district and all surrounding areas are invited. So, register TODAY!!!  Don't forget to reach out to those Arrow of Light Scouts that are planning to join your unit to encourage them to join you on what will be a SUPER FUN event.

The event takes place Friday April 28 4pm - Sunday April 30th, 10am, and will take place at Reese Volunteer Fire Company, located at 1745 Baltimore Blvd, Westminster, MD 21157.

All parking will need to be on the Carnival Grounds grass lots, not the paved parking, due to several events going on in the fire station hall.  We will have plenty of room on the grass for over 200 tents, as well as the normal number of cars and trailers.

Please register your Troop, Ship, or Explorer Crew together. Sorry, no individual registrations will be accepted.

Registration Fees:

Scouts $15 / Adults $5

All paid scouts will receive a limited edition 2023 Carroll District Camporee Back to the Woods patch.  Adults may purchase patches online or on-site for an additional $5.

Registration closes on April 21, 2023 at midnight.  No late registrations will be accepted. Make sure the contact person listed on the registration is someone who will be at the event so that up-to-date information gets to the correct people.

We ask that each participating unit host a fun and engaging scout skill-building station.  In your registration, please provide the name and brief description of the station you'd like to run.  Below is a list of suggested stations that are perfect for a Camporee: Totem Chip, Fireman Chit, Pioneering, Knot Skills, Obstacle Course, Team Building Activity, Orienteering, Journey to First Class Skill Station, Scavenger Hunt, Leave No Trace, etc. Or be creative and come up with your own.

Please review the 2023 Carroll District Camporee Leader Guide (coming soon) for additional logistics, guidelines, schedule, and much more.

If you have any questions not answered by the leader's guide, please contact Gabe Hare at gabe.hare@yahoo.com.
