Osage Nation Cabin in the Woods

What is it? - CABIN IN THE WOODS is a fun, exciting weekend event for ARROW OF LIGHT, SCOUTS, VENTURE CREWS kick off the Scouting year.

Activities? - There will be activities Costume contest, Shooting Sports, Campsite Decorating Contest, TRICK OR TREATING, STEAM ACTIVITIES & MUCH MORE FUN! This year we are going to have a contest to see who can decorate the best 10x10 canopy (troop provided). The categories are scary, funny and unique.

When?            Friday-Sunday          OCT 3-5, 2025

Where?           Idle Hour Lake, Altamont, KS

Supervision?  All units must have two-deep leadership in accordance with Youth Protection Guidelines, and all registered leaders must have completed NEW Youth Protection Training. AOLs must have appropriate unit leadership.

Cost?  Pre-registration Fee is $20 youth, non-participating adults $5. If an adult wants to participate it is $20 Registrations after September 7,2025 will be $40 per person. The registration fee includes program materials, activity shirt, and a patch for all participants. The last day to register online is September 20, 2025.

Food?  All packs are responsible for providing their own meals. Dinner Saturday will be a potluck.

 Refunds?  Refunds are not available, but fees may be transferred to another Scout or Adult.

Preregistration is required for program materials and patches to be provided to all participants. Registration prior to September 7,2025 is required to guarantee an activity shirt. The event is open to all registered Cubs, and leaders. Online payment is required and may be made by credit card or electronic check.                       Each Troop needs to provide 1 or 2 adult volunteers to help with program.

Insurance?             Liability, as well as Sickness and Accident Insurance are provided for all registered members of the BSA.
