Chess Merit Badge

What? This will be an event focused around teaching the Chess Merit Badge. Participants will learn the basics of chess and game strategies, along with participating in a chess tournament. This event will complete requirements 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 of Chess Merit Badge. Players of all skill levels are encouraged to attend, since we will cover everything needed to learn how to play from the beginner level, up to more advanced tactics. Concessions will be available for purchase during check in time.

When? October 12th, 2024:11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

                    Check in : 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

                    Opening : 11:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

                     Event : 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m

Where? Journey Church

               Independence, Kansas 67301

Cost? Registration fee is $5.00 per Scout and $5.00 per Adult. Lunch will be not provided. Lunch concessions will be available for purchase until 11:45 a.m.

            Units are welcome to bring sack lunches and/or snacks!

Refunds? Refunds are not available but are transferable to another Scout on same booked registration.

Registration? Registrations and payments for all Quivira Council events are now online!  Please check the Quivira Council Website (www.quivira.org) for updates & links to registration. Online payment is required. Online payment can be made by credit card or electronic check.

Scouts will be expected to respect the property used during the event. ANYONE not exhibiting scout-like behavior will be removed. No exceptions will be made.
