2026 WFA/CPR April 11th and 12th @ Great Plains Nature Center

WILDERNESS FIRST AID and CPR/AED at Great Plains Nature Center

Saturday, April 11th-12th, 2026
 
The course is a fun academic and practicum, with field-training experience. This class covers CPR/AED(Adult, Child, and Infant), Wilderness First Aid, and Stop The Bleed. Even if you already have CPR/AED Training. 
 
WFA is recommended for BSA activities in remote back country settings where emergency response is more than 30 minutes away and meets BSA National High Adventure requirement (Philmont, Summit, Canoe Base & Sea Base) to have at least one trek participant “trained and certified in Wilderness 1st Aid.”
 
Course is open to registered Adults & Youth (14 years and older)
 
 
Wilderness First Aid: will begin on Sat., 9:00am – 5:00pm
and Sunday 8:30am-5:00pm
This is a 16hr Course!
 
$175 fee for CPR/AED(Adult, Child, and Infant), Wilderness First Aid, and Stop The Bleed. -   Fee includes texts, workbook, activity materials, a 2-year certification.  
 
Pre-registration is required!
Last day to register online – Sunday, March 29th, 2026.
Class Size is limited to 20 in total! Additional particapants must be approved by Event Director
 
What to Bring? Please bring a  pen/pencil, note paper, camp chair(preferably a back packing chair), water bottle, and appropriate outdoor wear. BSA unit activity shirt is recommended as this is a Scouting event.

Outdoor/Indoor Classroom: This class will be taught both indoors and outdoors. Please be prepared for lifting and hiking activities to simulate trek/camping conditions.

Meals: Please bring a sack lunch and snacks for both days!

 
IMPORTANT: Be sure you include your email in your registration!  A participant letter will be e-mailed the week before to those for whom we have e-mail addresses.
