Konzavous: Frontier Adventure 2027

More than a camporee. A destination experience.

Join Scouts, leaders, and families from across Kansas and the surrounding region for Konzavous: Frontier Adventure 2027, a one-of-a-kind immersive frontier experience hosted by the Republican Valley Muzzleloaders Association (RVMA) and the Konza District.

Located on the historic RVMA grounds west of Wakefield, Kansas, Konzavous transforms a typical Scout campout into a living frontier village where participants step back in time and experience the skills, challenges, and adventure of America's mountain men and early pioneers.

Inspired by the great rendezvous gatherings of the fur trade era, Konzavous is designed to be a destination event that Scouts look forward to all year. Throughout the weekend, participants won't simply watch demonstrations—they will actively learn, practice, and experience authentic frontier skills from knowledgeable historians, craftsmen, and outdoorsmen.

Experience the Frontier

Scouts may have opportunities to:

• Throw tomahawks and learn their historical uses
• Shoot black powder rifles under trained supervision
• Master flint and steel fire starting
• Build fires using primitive friction methods
• Explore leatherworking and frontier craftsmanship
• Learn traditional bow-making techniques
• Practice archery skills
• Discover trapping methods used by early frontiersmen
• Explore hide tanning and wilderness survival skills
• Visit authentic camps and interact with living-history interpreters

Why Attend?

Konzavous is not just another camporee. It is an opportunity for Scouts to immerse themselves in a hands-on outdoor experience unlike any other offered in the region. The combination of authentic frontier skills, living history, outdoor adventure, and fellowship creates memories that last a lifetime.

Whether you are a first-year Scout or an experienced outdoorsman, you'll discover new skills, meet fellow adventurers, and experience a weekend that feels like stepping into another era.

Important Notes

• There will NOT be a trading area at this event. Please do not bring trade goods or items intended for barter.
• Personal firearms, black powder equipment, archery equipment, and tomahawks are NOT permitted. All program equipment will be provided and supervised by event staff.
• A map of program areas and activity locations will be distributed during the Friday evening leaders' meeting.

A Kansas Scout Tradition in the Making

Our vision is simple: to make Konzavous the premier frontier-themed Scout event in the Midwest—a place where Scouts travel from across Kansas and neighboring states to experience adventure, history, and the spirit of the American frontier.

Gather your patrol. Pack your gear. Step back in time.
