Webelos Woods - Konza

Event Details

About Webelos Woods

Webelos Woods is a weekend camping event designed to introduce Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts - fourth - and fifth grade Cub Scouts and their parents or guardians to the adventures of Scouts BSA.

Throughout the weekend, participants will enjoy outdoor activities, engaging demonstrations, and opportunities to meet Scouts and leaders from Konza District troops. The program highlights two important parts of Scouts BSA: youth-led troops and the patrol method.

  • Fourth-grade Webelos Scouts will have opportunities to work toward Webelos Adventures.
  • Fifth-grade Arrow of Light Scouts will work toward Arrow of Light Adventures and practice skills found in the Scouts BSA Handbook.

Planned activities include outdoor skills, fishing, nature exploration, navigation, and shooting sports. Activities and Adventure requirements are subject to change.

All program activities are led by Konza District Scouts BSA troops. Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts will work alongside Scouts BSA members in patrols, giving Scouts and their families a firsthand look at the Scouts BSA experience.

BALOO Training

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) training will be available for registered adult leaders during the weekend. BALOO provides Cub Scout leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to plan and conduct safe, successful pack camping activities.

At least one BALOO-trained registered adult leader must attend every Cub Scout pack, Webelos den, or Arrow of Light den/patrol overnight campout.

Adults attending BALOO training must select the separate BALOO registration option.

Weekend Camping

Participating packs and troops will camp for the full weekend, arriving Friday evening and departing Sunday morning.

  • Meals are the responsibility of each participant or unit.
  • Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to camp and participate with their Webelos or Arrow of Light Scout.
  • All youth and adult attendees must register for the event.
  • All participants must follow current Scouting America leadership, Youth Protection, medical-form, and camping requirements.
