Workbook: The “Citizenship in the Nation” workbook is located under resources of this event. Troop leaders and scouts should review it completing some portions of the workbook before the actual workshop. NARA Photo Release Form: Please complete this form for each scout and adult. Before the workshop: Locate the link to “Letters to President Eisenhower” on the same webpage listed in Activity 1. Read as many of these letters to and from the President (or his staff) as you want to. Write a letter about a national issue in the news to your Representative or a Senator, sharing your view on the issue. Bring it with you to the “Citizenship in the Nation” Merit Badge workshop, and we will send your letters in one package. You should use the proper letter format and salutation for the person you are writing the letter to. Bring your workbook and your letter to your Senator or Representative (see Activity 8) with you to the workshop. We will review these as part of the workshop, so come prepared to share and discuss your answers.
