STEM Harvest: Cub Scout Rocket & Space Exploration Program
Space is like a giant playground in the sky—filled with stars to discover, planets to explore, robots to control, and mysteries waiting to be solved!
As part of STEM Harvest, Cub Scouts will take part in a full day of hands-on science, technology, engineering, and exploration.
Join Steve Arthur, NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador and Founder of Big Creek Rocketry, to learn about the history of rockets and spaceflight, discover how rockets work, and build your own rocket.
Scouts will also experience astronomy through the Fort Hays State University inflatable astronomy dome, explore stars, planets, and constellations, and take part in a robotics station focused on engineering, technology, and space exploration.
Lunch will be on your own. After lunch, families will reconvene at the designated launch site at 1:00 PM for the grand finale: the rocket launch!
Scouts will get to launch the rockets they built and see STEM concepts come to life.
Rocket launch is weather permitting.
Build. Explore. Discover. Launch. STEM Harvest!
