2025 - University of Scouting - Fall Semester @ Purdue University - Presented by IU Health

2025 - University of Scouting presented by IU Health at Purdue University
Saturday, December 6, 2025
Welcome to the Nation's Largest University of Scouting presented by IU Health and hosted by the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Months of planning have led us here, with a few more months of fine tuning, we will ready to go by Saturday, December 6 at Purdue University! This email and the www.sagamoreuofs.com website has everything you need to know at this point for the event.
This event will have:
- Cub Scout Adventures for all ranks; Lion through Arrow of Light
- Adult Leader Training Sessions
- 100+ merit badges for our Scouts
- Toy Drive and Blood Drive
- Vendor Midway
- Live Online Auction (as a part of the Auctioneering Merit Badge)
There is literally something for everyone! Purdue University told us earlier this spring, this is the largest ONE DAY youth serving event that takes place at Purdue University! One other serves more kids but is over 2 or more days! We also have the record for the Nation's largest single day Jimmy John's order!!! Yea, they track that!! While we are bragging....this is the largest University of Scouting or like event in Scouting America and we are proud of it and WE WANT YOU HERE WITH US!
Event Registration:
Registration will be available from 7/1/2025 through 10/16/25 for $25.
On 10/17, the cost will go up to $35 and will close at 11:59 PM on 11/16.
We will add classes periodically as we secure additional instructors. Once classes are full, they are full. We keep our class sizes smaller to ensure that Scouts are learning in a quality environment. Black Pug/247 Scouting will be the source for the most up-to-date class offerings. Individual Scout/Family registrations are better than unit registrations but you are able to do both.
User Email and Event App:
Make sure you are using a Google, Microsoft, Apple, Dropbox, Smartsheet, Box, or Salesforce email address when registering for the event so you don't have complications with the event app! Event App info will be in the Leader Guide on Page 11.
Event Headquarters and Opening:
We have moved our HQ Location to the Purdue Armory! That is where headquarters/staff room, check in/registration, lunch, vendor midway, toy drive, and blood drive will be as well. The opening ceremony will still be across the parking lot in Elliott Hall of Music at 8:00 AM. Check in will begin at 7:00 AM.
Pre-requisites:
A small change for this year, the pre-requisites will just be listed in the Course Catalog and on Black Pug, not the Leader/ Parent Guide to save a little space. Some classes have an additional program fee for that specific class. Some classes have a registration cutoff date prior to the event to ensure ample time is allowed for instructor led pre-requisites. Fees and early cutoff times are noted in Leader/Parent Guide.
Scouts BSA TEST LAB:
We will have all 3 of the Test Lab Merit Badges: Wildland Fire Management, Auctioneering, and Life Skills. Here is info on the Test Lab if you aren't familiar.
Merch:
Hoodies, Long Sleeve Ts, Beanies, patches, and a neckerhief are on sale beginning 7/1 at the online trading post or as a part of your check out for the event. Two collector's edition CSPs are on sale as well but not at check out, only at the online trading post. Merch will be available for pickup on site at the event. Merch sales end on 11/1 at 11:59 PM except for neckerchiefs, then end 10/1.
