Air Show Encampment

Event Details

Scouts BSA Troops, Venturing Crews, and Explorer Posts are invited to camp as a unit and volunteer for the Crossroads Air Show, one of the biggest events in Indianapolis in 2023!

We expect 1,500 volunteers at Camp Belzer over the weekend of October 27-29, and we have exciting plans to make the experience memorable. We deeply appreciate your help, as we could not host the Air Show without you!

As Volunteers, you will have special access to the Air Show, including transportation to and from the airfield and meals with your unit. We have also arranged an exclusive opportunity just for our encampment participants to meet pilots and crew from the famous U.S. Navy Blue Angels!

Encampment Check-in:
Friday, October 27, 2023 2:00 PM-8:00 PM

Encampment registration is FREE! Scouts participating in the encampment for the air show will be asked to provide service both Saturday and Sunday at the Air Show.

Registration is open only to Scouts BSA, Venturers, Explorers and leaders.

Encampment registration must be done on a unit (group) basis only, so only one leader from each unit should be responsible for registering for this event.

Registrations are first-come, first-served. Space is limited, so register early!

No Registrations will be accepted after Sept. 29 — no exceptions

What does the registration include?

  • All meals—Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast/lunch/dinner, and Sunday breakfast and lunch (Sunday dinner provided for tear-down volunteers).
  • Admission to the Air Show for both days.
  • Evening programs.
  • An apparel item.
  • A special memorabilia item.
  • Bus transport between Encampment and Air Show.

(Effective September 1, 2023) For Each unit - TWO registered adult leaders 21 years of age or over are required at all Scouting activities, including all meetings. There must be a registered female adult leader 21 years of age or over in every unit serving females. A registered female adult leader 21 years of age or over must be present for any activity involving female youth or female adult program participants.

Notwithstanding the minimum leader requirements, age and program-appropriate supervision must always be provided.

All adults staying overnight in connection with a Scouting activity must be currently registered in an adult fee required position as listed or as an adult program participant.

Please understand that this is not like your week at summer camp or a weekend at a camporee. NO OPEN FLAMES or CAMPSITE CAMPFIRES.

*Please limit the number of vehicles used to transport Scouts and Equipment to the Encampment site due to the number of participants we anticipate . Large vehicles and vehicles pulling trailers will be asked to park at the Golden-Burke Scout Center one mile away. Your cooperation and that of your Scouts, their parents, and fellow leaders is appreciated.
