Event Details

 What is Project 216?

 * Local non-profit humanitarian food-aid organization

* Mission to show God’s love by provide highly nutritious meals to food-insecure people around the world and giving our community an opportunity to serve, to make a real difference.

Where does 216 come from?

* 216 of our highly nutritious meals are packed into one carton
* In a 2-hr span, one volunteer will make 216+ meals

 * If one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good it is?    James 2:16

The Meals are:

 * Made from only three readily available dry ingredients:  Rice, soy, and vegetables with a  “Power” packet of 21 vitamin/mineral powder

  * Formulated by food scientists at the Mathile Institute to provide a rich source of easily digestible protein, carbohydrates and vitamins that are needed by a malnourished child’s body and mind.

  * These meals not only fill the stomach but also can reverse the impact of children under the age of 5.

After the event, these meals will be delivered to:

            * Local food pantries

            * NGOs in Haiti to feed school children impacted by the recent 7.2 magnitude earthquake and  upcoming hurricanes (Children’s Lifeline, Mission of Hope)

  * Of the 7.8 billion people in the world

* 821 Million of them face food insecurity (10.5%)
* 84 people right here in NE Indiana

Global Hunger Facts:
