WHAT IS A “CAMP AMBASSADOR"?

Greetings Scouters!

                  I would like to introduce a great new program at the Anthony Wayne Scout Reservation that allows Scouters, Alumni, units, and organizations to help continue to make our property a premiere camping destination for scouts throughout the Central Region. The Council leadership, Camping Committee, Properties Committee, and Summer Camp Leadership Team are always looking for ways to improve camp facilities and enhance our already diverse program. Here is your opportunity to become vested in the long-term sustainability of our camping program and to help make some of these great ideas become a reality!

The Anthony Wayne Scout Reservation receives operational funding from a variety of sources including grants, foundations, Friends of Scouting, and camp revenues. The Ambassador program is not meant to replace these sources of funding, but instead supplement them so that we may continue to enhance the quality of programming and facilities at camp.

As a Camp Ambassador, you may submit a project idea to be considered. Each fall, all Ambassadors will meet for fellowship, discuss project proposals, and vote on which project will receive the raised funds. Pending approval from the Camp Properties Committee, the project will be completed and ready by the next camping season. Additional “votes” may also be purchased by individuals or groups to help make their proposals more likely. 100% of the funds raised through the Camp Ambassador Program will be used for submitted projects.
