2) the pre-event medical screening and associated resources
The temperature check must be tracked for 5 days leading up to the event.
Notice to all attendees: The health and safety of all Scouts/Scouters is our top priority for this and all events. PRIOR TO REGISTERING - Please refer to the AWL #470 and Chapter Activities COVID -19 Protocols located under attachments on this page. If you are in the “at risk” group as defined by the CDC, for COVID-19, we strongly advise against attending this event. If you are sick or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, do NOT attend. We will send out the Health Screening Protocols prior to the event. If you fall under the “No” Category, please let us know and please do not attend. You will be screened upon arriving at Camp as well and will be turned away if you are in the “No” category or if you are running a fever.
Dates:
Session 1: October 16-17, 2020
Session 2: October 17-18, 2020
There will be a maximum of 50 attendees per session.
COVID 19 Protocols:
- Masks must be worn during the entire ordeal (no bandanas nor gators)
- Participants are expected to bring disposable gloves
- Participants must bring a labeled bottle of hand sanitizer
- No car pooling (unless you are the same family)
- No tent sharing (unless you are the same family)
- Comply with physical distancing
- Bring at least 2 clearly labeled bottles of water
- Bring your own tools

Registration:
Potomac candidates will have preference, but if there is space available other candidates will be welcome.

Registration closes October 10
Transportation: You must provide your own transportation. No car pooling to comply with COVID-19 protocol. Families may ride together. It is strongly recommended that no youth under 21 drive themselves.
Check In Time:
General Check In Time - 5-8:00pm
Elangomat Check In Time - 5:00pm
No late arrivals unless pre-cleared 24 hours in advance.
Notice to all candidates:
All ordeal candidates that have been elected during the election period (February 1, 2019, to August 17, 2020) should have received a written notice confirming their candidacy and an invitation to attend the upcoming ordeal from the Potomac Chapter.
You have two years from the date of your election to complete your ordeal. (Temporary exception)
Accommodations for female youth candidates are available at this ordeal.
If you are unable to participate in this ordeal, you must contact your chapter adviser to make arrangements in advance to attend one of the other listed ordeals, found on the OA NCAC web page (side bar) Chapter Ordeal Schedules to attend an ordeal outside of your chapter/district.
No cell phones (candidates) or electronic devices allowed.
Notice to all Order of the Arrow members
All active Order of the Arrow members are encouraged to register. An active Order of the Arrow member is:
- Currently registered with BSA and
- Lodge dues are paid through current year
If your dues are not current you will need to pay them.
Pay your annual dues online. Dues are $16. (Candidate’s dues are included in the Ordeal costs.)

BSA Health & Medical Record Form required for all lodge/chapter events
All Order of the Arrow members/candidates who attend the Ordeal MUST complete the medical form. (It is the first one on this page; it is used for activities of less than 72 hours. This does not require a doctor’s signature)
All medications need to be in the original containers with the Scouts' name, dosage requirements (containers will be returned), and with the correct amount of Medication for the weekend. This includes over the counter drugs with a signed note from Parent/Guardian with dosage and instructions on time to be taken. Place all containers in a zip-locked bag labeled with the Scouts' name. All medications shall be turned in during check-in. If you use an inhaler or epipen, please bring a second one (Scout will carry one and the health center will hold the second.)
BRING THE COMPLETED HEALTH & MEDICAL RECORD FORM WITH A PHOTOCOPY OF BOTH SIDES OF YOUR INSURANCE CARD TO THE ORDEAL, IF THE FAMILY DOES NOT HAVE MEDICAL INSURANCE STATE "NONE." Any documentation on your phone is not acceptable by BSA.
Anyone who has dietary needs or is allergic to anything on the menu other than peanuts and eggs will need to provide their own food for that meal. Person who brings their own food will provide their own cooler and ice, which will be turned into health and safety staff at check-in. Person must speak to Jerry Beaulieu prior to the ordeal.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
If you arrive without the required medical forms /temperature check /records /Code of Conduct you will not be allowed to participate in the ordeal and will not receive a refund.
Medical forms will not be returned.
