Hybrid Wilderness First Aid Class at Colorado Adventure Point

This blended Wilderness First Aid course includes an online portion and an in-person, 8hr practice scenarios day. The online portion can be completed at one's own pace prior to class. Participants will receive a digital ECSI WFA certification, good for two years from the completion date. This course is for initial and renewing participants.
The goals of this course are to teach the skills to perform a basic patient assessment, recognize life threats and initiate care, and be able to deliver a written and verbal report for evacuation. The curriculum covers trauma, medical, and environmental problems; including how to minimize the risk of these problems.
Prerequisites:
- Must be 16 years or older
- Must complete the ESCI online module portion prior to class https://www.ecsinstitute.org/catalog/productdetails/9781284224719 (this is a separate registration-BSA Wilderness First Aid Navigate Course)
If WFA (Wilderness First Aid) is required for your BSA adventure, you will also need a current CPR/AED certificate. BSA does not accept online only courses.
Please bring with you to class:
- Lunch and water bottle
- Comfortable shoes and clothing
- A backpack with what you normally pack for a day hike
- Your personal first aid kit (if you have one)
- Notebook/pencil.
