Black Feather District is doing a service project to honor our nation’s veterans! 

Come help get flags ready for placement at Ft. Logan National Cemetery on Memorial Day. 

Each year, Cub Scout Packs and Troops from around Black Feather District honor our nation’s veterans on Memorial Day by placing flags near the headstones of veterans at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. Our Scouts and their families partner with the Flags of Fallen Vets organization.  This year, our Scouts wanted to maximize their service and help the organization assemble the flags for this annual event. To do this, we are going to help inspect and bundle the flags so that they are ready for placement. 

We will have tubs of flags available for Packs and Troops to go through at the library locations. Scouts and their families will receive instructions on how to inspect the flags and then bundle them to be placed back in the tubs. Flags that are not in good condition will be set aside for proper disposal. 

To ensure there are sufficient flags, please reach out to Valerie Hopkins and let her know if your Pack or Troop plans to attend. You can text her at 720-838-7950. Please let her know what Pack or Troop you are with, what location you plan to go to and approximately how many Scouts you anticipate coming.

There will also be information available for Packs and Troops that are interested in participating in the event on Memorial Day at Ft. Logan if you would like to register.
