Climbing Merit Badge

Thank you for your interest in the Climbing Merit Badge Class!
This class introduces Scouts to the fundamentals of rock climbing, including safety practices, equipment use, knot tying, and basic climbing and belaying techniques. Sunday, March 29th will be focused on book work, and setting foundations. Saturday, April 4th will focus on climbing, belaying, and rapellling practice.
This is a two day event over two weekends. Scouts must be present on both days in order to participate.
- Scouts should bring a lunch, snacks, and water for the day.
- Scout uniform is not required.
- Closed toed shoes are required.
- Please bring paper and pencil.
- Please bring a signed BSA Health Form at check in
Scouts will receive paper blue cards at the end of the day, all requirements completed during class will be marked off. Any requirements not covered will be considered homework. Homework can be turned in to CAPHomework@gmail.com when completed. It is a Scout’s responsibility after class to turn this blue card into their Troop leadership to get recorded/awarded.
