2026 Majestic Mesas Klondike

Event Details

2026 Majestic Mesas Klondike

February 7 from 9 AM to 4 PM at Vega State Park

Klondike is a unique, fun, and challenging event held in the snow or cold weather. Friendly competitions (called stations) test the skills that scouts have learned with the added challenge of snow and cold weather.

The Leader's Guide contains all your need to know information and is for everyone, not just leaders. Please download the Leader's Guide from the attachments section and read it to make sure you know what to expect at Klondike.

Vega State Park

Located in Collbran, Colorado, Vega State Park is hosting this year's Klondike. There is an entrance fee for the park that is NOT included in your registration. Please plan on paying the entrance fee upon your arrival or showing your State Parks Pass.

Safety

Please remember to bring and drink plenty of water. At the high altitude, our bodies need more water to keep hydrated. Wear warm clothing (wool or thick non-cotton socks, shirts, pants, gloves, etc) and sunscreen. Be aware of the signs of dehydration and hypothermia. If you or someone around you is showing signs, get help immediately. If you are feeling cold and miserable, please head to the cabin to take a break and warm up.

Medical Forms Part A&B are require to attend. These need to be submitted at the time of registration. Please print them, fill them out, and bring them with you. Anyone without a medical form will not be allowed to stay. They can be found in the attachments section or by using your web browsers search engine to find Scouting America Medical Forms

Overnight Camping

Troops that wish to camp overnight on Friday may do so. The campground we reserved is available at no extra cost beyond the park entrance fee for those attending Klondike. They also have 6-person cabins for rent that have two bunk beds (twin over double), electricity, heating, and a fridge & microwave. Rentals cost around $90 per night. Water and restrooms are separate from the cabin but accessible.

We are looking for more volunteers to help run the stations. No planning needed. We will provide you with everything. If you'd like to volunteer, please contact Tom Foote.
