Wacky experiments and chemical reactions await! In this hands-on class, you will learn to use chemicals safely, conduct flame tests to identify elements/metal ions, predict and demonstrate various chemical reactions and construct a Cartesian diver, describing its behavior in terms of how gases behave - and much more! Note: Be sure to bring on Monday, an empty 20 oz. water bottle for the Cartesian diver project AND an empty aluminum can (soda can etc - washed out please) for the "can crush experiment" exploring water vapor and differences in air pressure.

These sessions run Mon - Fri from 1:15pm to 2:45pm during Newport Sea Base Summer Camp.
