Oceanography Merit Badge AM (Ages 11 to 17)

Dissect a shark and learn about the anatomy of this amazing ocean creature. Use microscopes, underwater cameras, lab-grade plankton nets, and many other research tools to learn about our ocean's vital ecosystems, weather patterns, and bathysphere! Partake in eye-opening experiments such as our oil spill lab and figure out ways to help our waterways. Learn about the physical, chemical, geographical, and biological studies of oceanography, and take a field trip to conduct marine research around Newport Harbor aboard our pontoon boat!
These sessions run Mon - Fri from 8:45am to 10:15am during Newport Sea Base Summer Camp.
