Need a change of pace class/merit badge that allows your child to let loose, act out scenes and plays, learn to improv, and have fun?! The Theater Merit Badge is loaded with exciting activities sure to engage your child with creativity and imagination. All Scouts with any level of experience especially first time theater participants are encouraged to join. Play write, rehearse, and act out your very own play at NSB! Get an introduction to life on the stage while doing the requirements for the Theater merit badge. Learn how to read plays and write your own. Learn theater vocabulary and explore skills such as acting, directing, basic set design, costume and more! Plays that the children create may have an opportunity to be acted out live at our annual Holiday Boat Parade event at NSB in December before a live crowd. Our lead instructor is a graduate of the Theater program at USC and has performed professionally in a variety of plays and musicals.
