Pacifica AOL Adventures-Webelos Woods

Event Details

AOL WOODS has been rebranded to Arrow of Light Adventures - Webelos Woods!  Yes, you see that right, Webelos are added to the event!  Yah!!

Arrow of Light (AOL) Adventures and Webelos Woods is an outdoor adventure designed to engage Arrow of Light and Webelos scouts in fun and useful scout skills that will prepare them to bridge into a Scout Troop. Webelos Woods and AOL Adventure is the perfect opportunity for Troops to support Cub scouts and their parents. It is also an excellent opportunity for Troops to present leadership and outdoor skills, and to use the Explain, Demonstrate, Guide, Enable (EDGE) method.

This event is an overnight camping experience for AOL Scouts (5th grade) and a Saturday event for Webelos (4th grade). This is not an overnight event for Webelos.

What to Expect at Arrow of Light Woods
At Arrow of Light Adventures - Webelos Woods, Cubs will rotate through a series of Adventure Stations where scouts from local Scouting America Troops will teach a valuable, fun scout skills related to an AOL Adventure or Webelos Adventure.
Parents and adult leaders will have the opportunity to attend parent information sessions  and learn the basics of joining a Troop and what the bridging from AOL to a Troop should look like. There will be a  parent information session for Webelos parents that will provide information about finishing your Webelos year strong and how to plan for your AOL year.

Adventure Stations
Cubs will actively participate as a member of a patrol and rotate through a series of adventure stations on Saturday.  Each station will teach the cub a scout skill related to one of their adventures.  Webelos Scouts (4th grade) and AOL Scouts (5th grade) will work on different advancement tracks. For the most part, they will be doing activities that are part of their rank’s program. The exception is when Webelos Scouts work on First Aid and AOL Scouts will work on knots and fire building, which are part of Let’s Camp in the Webelos Rank.  First Aid and Camping skills are important skills worth repeating.
