Leader Education and Discovery (L.E.A.D.)

Be the Best Scout Leader You Can Be!

Join your Fellow Scouters on January 24, 2026 from 8am to 5pm, for a complete day of learning, fun and connecting!

L.E.A.D. is the Golden Gate Area Council's ultimate training event for Scout Leaders, Parents, Venturers and Senior Youth.  Join us for a full day of learning, fun, and a great overall experience.

L.E.A.D. offers over 120 classes across seven colleges:

• Cub Scouts
• Scouts BSA
• Young Adult Programs (Venturing, Sea Scouts, Exploring)
• Special Needs & Disabilities
• Outdoor Education
• Continuing Education
• Technology

The day is broken up into six sessions. Some classes are one session long; others, such as CPR certification, are three sessions, while even others, like position specific leader training can cover all six sessions.

REMINDER: YOUTH ATTENDANCE POLICY AT LEAD 2026

LEAD is the premier training for Adult Leaders offered by the Golden Gate Area Council and is intended for Adult Leaders.

Youth must be aged 13+ and must register for at least one of the following CORE courses/programs listed here: https://goldengatescouting.org/lead/ (see the section "Youth Attendees" for all the details)

EARLY REGISTRATION (before 1/1/2026) - $60/adult, $30/youth (lunch included)
REGULAR REGISTRATION (1/1/2026 to 1/18/2026) - $75/adult, $35/youth (lunch included)
LATE REGISTRATION (after 1/18/2026) - $95/adult, $45/youth ... LUNCH NOT INCLUDED FOR LATE REGISTRANTS
