Weekend 2 October 4-5

What is Wood Badge?

Wood Badge is Scouting America's premier leadership training for adult volunteers and professionals. It is designed to equip leaders with the skills, confidence, and perspective needed to make a lasting impact — in Scouting and beyond.

Whether you serve in Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts, Explorers, or at the district or council level, Wood Badge is for you.

What You’ll Learn

This immersive course blends interactive learning with practical application. Topics include:

  • Effective communication and active listening
  • Team development and group dynamics
  • Conflict management and coaching
  • Servant leadership principles
  • Leading through change
  • Planning impactful Scouting experiences
  • And more

These subjects are presented through engaging activities, discussions, games, and teamwork — all while building meaningful connections with fellow Scouters.

Why Attend?

  • Strengthen your unit – Bring back tools that help your pack, troop, or crew thrive.
  • Grow as a leader – Improve leadership skills that benefit Scouting, work, and personal life.
  • Gain deeper insight – Understand the “why” behind Scouting’s methods and mission.
  • Experience the vision – Discover the power of shared purpose and leadership in action.
  • Have fun – Learn, laugh, and connect in a supportive outdoor setting.

Requirements to Attend

To register for Wood Badge, participants must:

  1. Be a registered member of Scouting America. (Youth 18 and older may attend if Youth Protection guidelines are followed. They do not need to be registered in an adult leadership role.)
  2. Have completed the basic training courses for their Scouting position.
  3. Be physically able to participate in an outdoor course environment. (All participants are required to complete the Annual Health and Medical Record form.)

Now is the time to invest in yourself, build stronger Scouting programs, and lead with purpose.

Register today — space is limited.
