Catalina Council is partnering with the Southern Arizona Rocketry Association (SARA) to launch model rockets and learn more about the hobby.  Registered Scouts will get an Estes Gnome rocket to assemble and launch.  Scouts are encouraged to bring other model rockets out to the field to fly from the rocket club's launch platforms.  Rockets can be purchased from the Scout Shop, ACE hardware, and other hobby shops or websites.

This event can meet requirement #2 of the BSA Space Exploration merit badge.

All rockets will be inspected by SARA volunteers to ensure a safe launch.

We will start promptly at 9.  Please bring a folding/camp chair for your Scout to use during assembly of the rocket.
