100th Ann. Encampment
Black Warrior Council 100 Year Celebration Encampment
The Moundville Archaeological Park is home to one of the most endeared historical sites in Alabama. Our proud heritage created by the native Americans who once inhabited this area is still celebrated and visited by thousands each year.It is fitting that the Black Warrior Council recognize and celebrate its 100 year anniversary in this historic location.
We are pleased to extend to you this invitation to participate in this celebration of Scouting in the West Alabama area by attending the “100th Anniversary Encampment”. This event is for all who are currently registered in Scouting as well as for all who were once a Scout or Scouter and helped establish the great legacy we now enjoy. This weekend will be jam-packed with activities for Cubs, Scouts, Scouters and alumni. We hope that each Scouting unit will not only fully participate but encourage their alumni to come out on Saturday afternoon to visit and stay for our evening arena show.
This will be a very special weekend and there will be something for everyone! As you explore this Leaders’ Guide, you will find information related to registration, camping guidelines, visitation procedures, options for food service, Cub activities, Scout activities, live music, Trade-O-Ree, Order of the Arrow rededication, recognition of alumni, a Saturday evening arena show, and much more. Make plans to attend and join this great celebration of Scouting in the Black Warrior Council!
An event such as this takes the work and support of many. We owe a special thanks of appreciation to the Troop 26 Alumni (of Moundville) and Mr. Robert Lake, for sponsorship of this event. Through their generosity, we have been able to keep costs as low as possible and provide what we believe will be a wonderful weekend of Scouting. Please check out the leader guide under attachments to learn more about what your unit will be doing for the Encampment this year!
Thanks for all that each of you do as a leader in Scouting. We look forward to seeing you, your Scouts, and alumni at the Moundville Archaeological Park October 28-30, 2022!
