Century of the Scout: 100 Years of Character, Leadership, and Community

Angelo State University, the Texas Southwest Council of Scouting America, and the ASU Mayer Museum are proud to present a landmark exhibition honoring 100 years of Scouting in our community.
Exhibit Dates: February 3 – August 22, 2026 Location: ASU Mayer Museum, 2501 W. Ave. N, San Angelo, TX
This exhibition highlights a century of Scouting history in the Texas Southwest Council—from early campfires and rugged hiking trails to major service projects that shaped generations of youth. Visitors will experience:
- Rare historic photographs
- Vintage uniforms and equipment
- Badges, insignia, and artifacts from across the decades
- Stories illustrating Scouting’s impact on West Texas communities since 1926
Whether you’re a current Scout, an alumnus, or simply a supporter of youth leadership, this exhibit offers a vibrant look at the legacy and values that have guided Scouting for a century.

Join us for a special evening celebrating the public debut of Century of the Scout.

Guests will enjoy early access to the exhibit, opportunities to engage with local Scouting leaders, and a first look at archival materials seldom seen by the public.
