ShopRite LPGA 2020

The ShopRite LPGA Classic presented by Acer is a South Jersey institution. For more than 31 years, the greatest female professional golfers in the world have descended upon our region and produced some of the most exciting golf in the history of the LPGA. The past champions of the ShopRite LPGA Classic presented by Acer represent the finest in professional golf. The tournament takes place at the Dolce Seaview Resort, 401 South New York Rd., Galloway Township, N.J., 08205.
The Garden State Council is a charity beneficiary of the ShopRite LPGA Classic. Since the LPGA started tracking charitable contributions in 1981, the cumulative donations have totaled $35 million to local Charities.
The donation to Garden State Council is dependent on volunteers serving as golf hole marshals for holes 2 & 3, and staffing the parking operations. Marshals are needed from Wednesday, September 30 to Sunday, October 4. Parking volunteers are needed every day starting September 28 with the largest contingent of persons needed Friday, October 2 to Sunday, October 4.

Arrival & Parking Information Volunteer parking is at the soccer fields located behind the Galloway Township Municipal Building 300 E.Jimmie Leeds Rd Galloway NJ 08205. There is no charge for volunteer parking.
There are two ways to earn our donation: by volunteering or purchasing a ticket.
PURCHASE TICKETS When you purchase a ticket from the online site and select Garden State Council BSA as your organization, the ShopRite LPGA Classic will donate 100% of your advance ticket purchase to Garden State Council. VOLUNTEER Garden State Scouting volunteers and friends have donated thousands of tournament hours to help support the programs of the council. When you volunteer to staff either the parking area or serve as a hole marshal you help us earn the largest portion of the annual donation. The number of volunteers increases each day of the tournament with the most needed Thursday through Sunday.(LPGA Fact Sheet is attached as a PDF)
PARKING VOLUNTEERS may be youth ages 14-18 or adults. It is not necessary to be registered BSA Scout or adult Scouter to participate. Parking responsibilities include collecting money and directing cars. Parking volunteers are needed Monday, September 28 to Sunday, October 4. Some volunteers report at 5:30 am; schedules vary by day, Friday through Sunday are the days more volunteers are needed. Our heavy parking times are Friday through Sunday 10:00 am to 2:00 PM. We will accommodate your schedule. We prefer you volunteer and commit to an entire day. Please be willing to staff at least one six-hour shift. Scouts BSA Troops, Venturing Crews, and Exploring Posts are especially needed Friday to Sunday. Parking volunteers receive a ShopRite LPGA tee shirt and have a choice of a baseball hat or visor. They also receive a meal voucher and free entry and parking to the tournament on the days they are not volunteering The volunteer/spectator parking area is located at the Galloway Township Municipal Complex 300 Jimmie Leeds Road Galloway Township NJ 08205. We also staff other smaller lots located closer to the tournament site. There is no cost to volunteer for parking.
MARSHAL VOLUNTEERS must be 14 and older. It is not necessary to be registered BSA Scout or adult Scouter to participate. The job of the marshal is to ensure the crowd is considerate of the golfers and that LPGA crowd guidelines are respected. Marshals are needed for the Pro-Am events on Wednesday, September 30 and Thursday, October 1 as well as the tournament rounds Friday, October 2 to Sunday, October 4. For Wednesday to Saturday, there are two time periods 6:45 am to 12:15 pm and 12:30 pm to 6:30 pm. There is only one start time on Sunday. Marshals working the morning shift must be at their position on the course by 6:50 AM. Afternoon marshals must be at the home by 12:50 pm remain until the conclusion of play usually at 6:00 PM. Marshal volunteers are required to wear the 2020 ShopRite LPGA Classic Golf shirt and may choose a baseball hat or visor. They need to wear their own khaki colored shorts, skirts or trousers. They also receive a meal voucher and free entry and parking to the tournament on the days they volunteer. There is a $50.00 uniform fee. The tournament takes place on the Bay Course at the Seaview Resort. (Map of the Bay Course is attached as a PDF)
TO VOLUNTEER as a marshal (holes 2 or 3) or parking click to be redirected to the online ShopRite LPGA Classic Volunteer Registration. Then click the red volunteer button to be directed to the login page. You need to create a new login and password, even if you volunteered before. When you get to the page choose either parking or marshal. Complete all of the requested information and sign the waiver of liability. Youth ages 14-18 must have their parents sign the waiver and are not required to pay the registration fee for any position. To register for:
- Parking At the online registration site, select parking and choose the time you can volunteer. For parking volunteers, there is no LPGA uniform fee. You receive a t-shirt and hat or visor. When your registration is complete, if you are unable to work all of the shifts you selected, email Bill Wasekanes or call 609 675 0302 to advise which days you will be there. - Marshals At the online registration site, select marshal and complete the requested information. Select marshal hole 2 or marshal hole 3 as your first, second, and third choices. There is a $50 LPGA Marshal uniform charge (golf style shirt and hat or visor). Choose your payment method, complete the credit card info and register for the event. You increase our donation by making the uniform payment. Your uniforms can be shipped (extra charge), picked up on distribution days (see fact sheet for pick-up information), or contact Bill Wasekanes to arrange a pickup. If we pick up your uniform it will be given to you when you arrive on your first day of service. If you need assistance with the $50.00 fee contact Bill Wasekanes. It is not required but strongly encouraged, especially if this is your first time as a Marshal. It consists of 30 minutes of general tournament information followed by training for your individual assignment. ShopRite Volunteer Incentives All parking and marshal volunteers receive the following incentive package provided by the ShopRite Tournament (to earn these incentives the tournament requests you volunteer at least three shifts lasting 4 to 6 hours each).
- Two grounds tickets to the Tournament (good any day)
- Free food and beverage during shifts
- Complimentary access to the Tournament and free parking all week
- Opportunity to play the Tournament course at a later date for a $25.00 cart fee. (conditions apply & must volunteer for 3 shifts)
- Register before TBD and attend the free volunteer kick-off party on TBD at the Carriage House 25 South Pitney Road in Galloway Township 08205 (Directions to the Carriage House)
Uniform Pick-Up (Friends or family can pick up the uniform for volunteer) Dolce Seaview Hotel – Regency Room Friday, May 21: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM or Saturday, May 22: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM Volunteers can also pick up uniforms at the Kickoff Party or the Orientation Training.
