Wilderness and Remote First Aid Training
COURSE FULL
The primary purpose of the Wilderness and Remote First Aid course is to provide individuals with a foundation of first aid principles and skills to be able to respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate emergency medical services response, such as wilderness and remote environments. This training is highly recommended for all activities where emergency help is an hour or more away.
Prerequisites:
- Current adult CPR/AED (or take as an add-on see registration sheet below)
- At least 14 years of age (Recommended 16)
Course Modules:
- Patient assessment
- Hypothermia
- Chest Injuries
- Heat Problems
- Shock
- Altitude Illnesses
- Head, Neck, Spinal
- Allergies and Anaphylaxis
- Bone and Joint Injuries
- Wilderness First Aid Kits
Cost:
American Red Cross Wilderness First Aid runs between $160 - $290. Because the course will be held locally and through the BSA, the cost is $100 per participant for pre-registration. Fees are transferable; however, non-refundable unless the session is canceled.

Friday, March 15
6:00 PM - Sign in
6:15 PM - Start Class
9:45 PM - End Class
Saturday, March 16
9:00 AM - Start Class
9:30 PM - Finish (Tentative based on progress)
Lunch and Dinner Provided
Session Size:
Limited to 18 participants; however a minimum of 6 participants is required to hold the course.
