 Distinguished Citizens Dinner

The Distinguished Citizens Dinner is the showcase fundraising event for the Mountaineer Area Council to support all Scouting programs in North Central West Virginia and recognize those in the community who exemplify the spirit of the Scout Oath and Scout Law in their everyday life.  Past individual honorees include George R. Farmer Jr., Dr. E. Gordon Gee, David C. Hardesty Jr., Bob Huggins, and Hershel "Woody" Williams.

The 2019 event will honor a business as well as an individual.  Additional presentations will include the Boy Scouts of America's Silver Buffalo Award to Dr. E. Gordon Gee and the Elbert K. Fretwell Outstanding Educator Award.  There will also be a special appearance by Chief Scout Executive Michael Surbaugh of the Boy Scouts of America.
