Pilgrimage Wreath Laying Ceremony

Join the tradition of Scouts and Scouters who have gathered since 1913 to honor General George Washington and his troops at Valley Forge National Historical Park. Short presentations will be given before the wreath-laying ceremony, honoring the event's founders, General George Washington, and the troops who wintered at Valley Forge between December 1777 and June 1778.
This event is free for participants, staff, and the general public.
After the Wreath Laying, spend the day in Valley Forge National Park to discover the
history of our American Revolution's winter encampment of 1777-1778, when a group of militias became the Continental Army.
The event continues with the Scout Pilgrimage and Encampment held on March 6-8, 2026 at Fort Washington State Park. For more information, or to register, visit https://scoutingevent.com/525-89920
Scouts and Scouters can earn the Valley Forge Trail Medal by following a self-guided tour of Valley Forge National Park. Go to scoutingphilly.org/historicaltrails for more information, to order your trail guide booklet, and to order the medal(s) earned.
