Earn your white GEC Range & Target training card today! If you have one already, bring it with you to the range at Expo or the 3D Archery Event for Scouts BSA on March 28 at the Yolo Bowman’s Club. (See council calendar and this training is not for cub scouts.) This 30-minute training per discipline (i.e. archery, rifle, shotgun) teaches safety range rules and safe handling of each piece of equipment for Scouts BSA and adults and is required for participation in a rifle, shotgun, and archery range. (This is not for cub scouts) This mandatory training to receive a Golden Empire Council Range & Target Training Card is for any adult/youth attending a shooting event (i.e. Expo) that will have an archery, shotgun, or rifle range at any GEC Scouts BSA, Venturing, or SeaScout Event/GEC Winton Summer Camp. The range instructors request this card to be shown at their ranges, which lets them know that the participant has been given formal Scouting America mandatory range safety training. Each range instructor also gives a short safety briefing before shooting on their range.
*The Range & Target training card is like a totem chip and is earned once and is good until a person loses the card/or does something unsafe, then they must take the classes over.
