NRA Pistol Instructor Course - Feb 25-27

Event Details

NRA Pistol Instructor Course: This course gives the students the skills, knowledge and attitude to become pistol instructor who can teach the basic pistol shooting program. Skills learned are how to teach, shooting positions, body positions, shot mechanics, sight picture, parts of a pistol, ammunition types and uses, Winchester marksmanship program, shooting activities, practical exercises, safe gun handling, hunting skills, cleaning and care of pistols, shooting skills development.

No merit badge counselor abilities available. 

Prospective instructors are required to pass a pre-course qualification. This includes passing the Basic Pistol Shooting Student Exam, a safe gun handling exercise, Loading and unloading a firearm, Clearing common stoppages, Live Shooting Exercise.

Dates:

Part 1: Friday, Feb 25 - 6PM-10PM - Palo Alto Service Center

Part 2: Saturday Feb 26 - 8AM-6PM - Palo Alto Service Center

Part 3: Sunday Feb 27 - 9AM-6PM - Boulder Creek Scout Reservation
 

Attendance: Students must attend all 3 sessions in their entirety to complete the training.
