2019 SKILL-O-RAMA SATURDAY SEPT. 28TH, 2019 GATE OPENS AT 9:00 AM – OPENING FLAG CEREMONY AT 10:00 AM. All Cub Scouts/Dens/Packs are welcome!  Lion Cubs can attend with an adult partner.  It doesn’t matter where you live or what council you’re from. Cub Scouts can come individually, as a den, or as a pack. – No Registration Required! WHAT? You’ve Never Been to a Skill-O-Rama? Skill-O-Rama is an opportunity for Cub Scouts to work on some of their rank requirements with Scouts BSA Troops, get a jump on their new scouting year, and have fun with other scouts. Troop 212 hosts this event with support from other area Scouts BSA troops as a service to area Cub Scouts – healthy and active Scouts BSA troops need healthy and active Cub Scout packs. Our Troops look forward to this event each year since it allows them to work with younger scouts and show them what Scouts BSA is about. All Cub Scout Packs and Scout BSA Troops……. Fenton Troop 212 is sponsoring the 2019 Skill-O-Rama with support from Fenton Troop 219, Linden Troop 111, Fenton Troop 2212 and Venture Crew 212. It will be held on Saturday September 28th 2019 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, at Silver Lake Park, Fenton, located on Jennings Road off Silver Parkway, across from the old Kmart. Gate opens at 9:00 am – please arrive early to complete registration before the opening flag ceremony. This event is a way for Cub Scouts, parents and leaders to earn some rank requirements, and most importantly, to HAVE FUN!
This year’s event will include: • Nature Trail – get some hiking and nature requirements completed with an area expert • Webelos, Bear, Wolf, Tiger and Lion Lands – this is where the Cub Scouts will work on their rank requirements. Please bring their books! • Scouts BSA Campsite – see an example of a traditional Scouts BSA summer campsite • Lunch Tent – volunteers will be serving hot dogs, chips, pizza, and drinks for small fee • Troop 212’s Famous Trebuchet –we’ll be launching pumpkins and watermelons at targets– scheduled times will be announced so all can participate (it’s a “SMASHING” good time!) • Skill-O-Rama Patch – each paying attendee will receive a commemorative Skill-O-Rama patch • All for $5.00 per Cub Scout – no charge for parents or leaders (unless they would like a patch)
Webelos Parent/Scout Campout If your scout is a Webelos 1 or 2, come spend some time with our scouts and learn what the program has to offer by experiencing a real Scouts BSA camp out. Saturday 3:30 pm to Sunday 12:00 noon (Webelos 1 or 2 and Akela). Camping fees & Webelos registration will not take place in the morning – Parents and scouts will register for this event at 3:30 pm at the MAIN PAVILION. Cost: $15 per Webelos Scout, Akela, additional sibling, or adult spending the night. $7.00 for those just joining us for dinner. Camp activities include: • Webelos camp setup • Scout patrol formation, banners and yells creation • Presentation by participating Scouts BSA troops (patrol leaders and Scout Masters) • Campfire with traditional BSA campfire skits and songs • Night time Trebuchet launch – Goodies and more!!!! • Formal United States flag retirement at the campfire • Dinner (pig roast), evening snack and Sunday breakfast included.
