The Far East Council, Scouting America is excited to offer BB Gun Rangemaster Training in Okinawa!
This training is designed for adult Scouters interested in supporting safe, exciting, and properly supervised BB gun programs at approved Far East Council and district activities.
There is no cost to attend this training.
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive their Scouting America BB Gun Rangemaster certification, valid for two years from the date of training.
Who Should Attend?
This course is ideal for adult Scouters who would like to assist with BB gun ranges at Far East Council activities, including Cub Scout day camps, council-managed short-term camps, district events, and other approved Range & Target Activities.
Participants must be at least 18 years old to serve as a BB Gun Rangemaster.
No previous shooting sports experience is required.
Training Topics
During this four-hour course, participants will receive instruction covering:
- Scouting America Range & Target Activities policies
- Roles and responsibilities of the BB Gun Rangemaster
- BB gun safety and safe handling procedures
- Range setup and organization
- Range commands and procedures
- Safe operation of a BB gun range
- Basic BB gun operation and shooting fundamentals
- Participant safety briefings
- Eye protection and safety equipment
- Emergency procedures
- Cub Scout BB gun program guidelines
- Age-appropriate Range & Target Activities
- Practical application of Rangemaster responsibilities
Certification
Participants who successfully complete the training will receive a Scouting America BB Gun Rangemaster certification valid for two years.
Trained BB Gun Rangemasters play an important role in allowing the Far East Council to provide safe and properly supervised Range & Target Activities for our Scouts.
Important Cub Scout Program Information
Cub Scout BB gun shooting is restricted to approved district and council activities and is not authorized as an individual pack or unit activity.
All BB gun activities must follow current Scouting America Range & Target Activities policies and be conducted under the supervision of appropriately trained personnel.
What to Bring
Participants should bring:
- Notebook and writing materials
- Water bottle
- Closed-toe shoes
- Appropriate clothing for training activities
- A willingness to learn and help provide safe Range & Target Activities for our Scouts!
