2026 Leave No Trace Virtual Event

Become a Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor!!
With the generous support of the National Outdoor Ethics and Conservation Committee, the Far East Council will be hosting a Virtual Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor Course.
This is a rare opportunity to become a certified Leave No Trace Level 1 instructor.
Those completing the course will be Level 1 Instructors, recognized by Leave No Trace and Scouting America. They will be prepared to:
- Understand, demonstrate, and teach minimum impact techniques to friends, family, scouting groups, and other community groups.
- Teach general Leave No Trace awareness workshops or other activities.
- Teach the Leave No Trace Basics, help others earn the Outdoor Ethics Awards, teach and check outdoor ethics advancement requirements, and lead related activities at scouting events.
- Lead discussions on outdoor ethics and help others explore their own personal outdoor ethics.
- Serve as an outdoor ethics resource in their community and scouting district.
This course consists of 10 hours of online instruction and requires an additional 6 hours of offline work between the two days of instruction.
Course dates:
Session one: Saturday, June 6, and Session two: Saturday, June 13, from 0900-1400 JST.
Course Capacity:
The course is limited in size to 12 students.
Any extra registrants will be put on the waitlist.
Course Fee:
The course fee of $30 covers the digital course material and a six-month membership to Leave No Trace.
Additional material and further membership in Leave No Trace are extra.----
