2026 Misawa Klondike Derby

Dates: Friday, February 13, 2026 - Monday, February 16, 2026 
Location: Misawa Air Force Base

Join Pacific Rim District's Troop 14 in the snow for the 2026 Klondike Derby! A weekend filled with fun, teamwork, and outdoor winter adventure! Highlights include the thrilling sled race and opportunities to work on the Snow Sports Merit Badge.

Cost:
Scouts = $75
Adults = $60

Gate List Requirements:
Due to base access requirements, additional documentation is needed for some participants:

• Third Country Nationals (TCN): Submit documents no later than January 2, 2026. (Because of the holiday season, we recommend registering by December 19, 2025)
• All other Non-DOD members: Submit documents no later than January 12, 2026.

Required documents (for TCN/Non-DOD participants):

• Color copy of passport
• Proof of health insurance

All meals are provided starting breakfast Saturday through a continental breakfast Monday. Plus, bottomless hot chocolate all weekend!

Don’t forget: Each participant must bring their own mess kit, utensils, and cup.

Health Forms A&B and Activity Consent Forms are required for all participants (downloadable from the attachment list on the right).

Packing List Guidance:

• Dress in layers (bring extras in case clothing gets wet)
  • Base layer: long johns (top & bottom)
  • Mid layer: puffy jacket, fleece, etc.
  • Outer layer: waterproof jacket
• Warm clothes to sleep in (dry base & mid layers not worn during the day)
• Waterproof boots
• Warm socks (plus extra pairs!)
• Beanie, stocking cap, or balaclava
• Waterproof gloves (ski gloves or equivalent)
• Winter tent
• Sleeping bag rated to 30°F or colder (silk liner recommended)
• Sleeping pad (two pads for extra insulation are best, less air is better)
• Extra blanket or quilt for added warmth
• Mess kit & hot chocolate mug
• Required health & consent forms
