SAJ Okinawa Council 70th Anniversary

Peace Memorial Park

               Come celebrate the SAJ Okinawa Council 70th Anniversary at the 26th Bi-Annual Friendship Jamborette and to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the end of World War II.  . This event has been a tribute to the friendship between the SAJ and BSA for the past 52 years. This year’s theme is Lasting Friendship and Peace. There will be Scouting Activities for Scouts of All Ages and will include a Tug of War and festival recreating the annual tug of war that is held in Naha. This will be a Messenger of Peace event and Scout at all levels will have the opportunity to participate in a Messenger of Peace Project earning them the award to wear on their Class A uniform.

Cub Scouts will attend during the day of December 7th only 
Scouts BSA and Venturers will camp December 6th - 8th

Units are encouraged to register together. They have the option of using the parent portal to have parents pay for their scout directly while still allowing the unit leader to track registration (and still giving the unit the opportunity to pay for scouts that they know will attend if parents don't pay directly).

Please remember that this event is taking place at a Memorial Cemetery, all rules regarding parking, trash etc. must be followed. There are no trash cans at Peace Memorial Park, all units/individuals will be responsible for sorting and disposing of their own trash. (Leave no Trace). Any violation of parking or trash disposal will be handled accordingly.

Food is not provided for this event; each unit will be responsible for their own food plan. For the friendship meal, the unit will prepare a US Meal that will be shared with their Japanese unit counterpart, please make American food to share with their Japanese Brother/Sister Unit. In return the Japanese unit will prepare a Japanese meal to share with your unit.
