Scouters Annual Conference 2023 in Frankfurt!

The 2023 Scouters Annual Conference (SAC) will be held over the October 6-8th weekend at the Frankfurt International School in Oberursel. The Scouters’ Annual Conference (SAC) training event for adult and youth leaders offered by the Transatlantic Council is designed to supplement the educational experience of any Scout leader.  The Frankfurt International School, one of our Chartered Organizations, has graciously offered to host this year’s Conference in their facilities.  Frankfurt International School is located approximately 15 km north of Frankfurt. The U3 train stop (Waldlust) is less than a 5 minute walk from the school.

SAC2023 is open to all Scout Leaders, Youth Leaders, Chartered Organizations, and parents within the Transatlantic Council. Adults may register to attend any class regardless of program designation, except the Youth Leadership classes. The Classes offered provide skills for first-time leaders to experienced leaders.

This year discussions will range from how to keep the fun in Scouting to all the “need to know” while Scouting in the overseas environment. Courses will be held on Saturday the 7th, with topics focusing on support of Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing, and other Scouting programs. There are offerings for both adult leaders and youth leaders. Refer to the listing of class offerings and schedule on the registration page to see what is being offered.

Leader Instruction
Classes in every program area to enhance your Scouting leadership, with a few being taught by our some of our exceptional Youth Leadership!

Midway
The Midway will be in the main hall and open the duration of the conference. Displays explaining the many opportunities within the Transatlantic Council to enhance your Scouting program will be available to visit at your leisure.

Mobile Trading Post
The Council’s Mobile Trading Post will also be located in the Midway and available for the duration of the conference to fill your Scouting supply needs. Whether it be a uniform, patches, or that itch to get something sentimental – we’ll have it for you! You can also pre-order any personal or unit supply needs and schedule them for pick up at the conference. Advancement items such as belt loops, pins, ranks, merit badges, etc. are only available through pre-order. 

Custom TAC items are availble for purchase during registration. (But keep in mind there is a September 1 deadline to order a Scouters Annual Conference polo shirt!)

Additionally:
The Council Annual Meeting will be held from 1300 to 1345 on the 7th. All SAC attendees are invited to attend.

After SAC classes are done, join us at the Council Recognition Dinner on Saturday evening. In addition to other awards, the highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Silver Beaver Awards. This is the highest award that a local council can bestow for volunteer service within the council and to the Boy Scouts of America. Scout uniform or casual business dress is appropriate attire. The event is held offsite at a local restaurant a short walk away from the Center.

Since this a three-day weekend for many of our Scouters, while you are attending SAC, bring the rest of the family to explore the environs of the Frankfurt area.  Take time to enjoy and see the sights of Frankfurt region. FEES:

Registrants are able to purchase a combined SAC and Council Recognition Dinner ticket for $90.00. Fees include a light reception on Friday, an available Saturday breakfast, Saturday lunch and snacks, a full day of SAC training, and the recognition dinner. 

The Recognition Dinner is being held just 50 meters away offsite at the Parkhotel am Tanus. Come join us as salute our worthy volunteers for their services to Scouting, including the presentation of the Silver Beaver Award- the highest recognition a council can present to a volunteer. The meal will feature a selection of pastas, main courses, desserts, water, and coffee. Scout uniform is suitable attire. An additional ticket for the Council Recognition Dinner Beaver Dinner is $50 per person. Youth (ages 12 and under) are $30.

The fee for the Executive Board Training is $40 per person.
