Come join us at the Klondike Derby 2021

The Klondike Derby is the premier snow and winter camporee offered in the Transatlantic Council. We will again be hosted at the amazing Kandersteg International Scout Centre, located deep in the heart of the Swiss Alps

This year's theme is "The Search for the Barbegazi"

On Saturday, we host a fun, robin-round style competition between patrols. Scouts compete in a variety of scout-skill inspired challenges to earn gold coins to win the Klondike Derby Trophy. We have a fantastic winter campfire where troops before their best skits and songs, followed by a cracker barrel.

On Sunday, Troop Leaders have the choice to take their choice on winter sports activities. These can be arranged through the KISC team. Last year they offered Skiing, snowboarding, Luging and Curling (a surprising favourite). We are working with their program team to also provide non-guided opportunities like snowshoe hiking or town exploration. We also provide an Interfaith service early in the morning.

Klondike has something for everybody and is flexible to what you can accommodate. Only available for Saturday, may you come for the day? Have MLK Monday off, why not stay and enjoy the mountains for a little while longer with our 3-Night Option?

The Klondike Derby is currently open to Scouts BSA, Venturing and Sea Scouts youth.

Webelos Arrow of Light Scouts are able to participate if attending with a troop. No sole participants.

The Transatlantic Council’s primary goal at all times is the health and safety of our members. In an effort to reduce the risk posed by our members, we are committing to the following:

• Event leadership are in constant contact with the KISC team to review the conditions, develop barriers to manage and reduce the risk faced by the participants
• We continually monitor the local and global state of the pandemic and adapt our response to it. 
• We will be implementing measures to reduce transmission risk. More information on these measures will follow, along with information broadcast open to all.
• We will require the cooperation of units and their leaders to ensure the safety of participants at this event
