Barbarossa Fall Camporee 2024
Barbarossa District’s 2024 Fall Camporee- the Golden Pot Cook Off!
October 18-20 in Sembach
It's Cook Off time! Bring your Units cooking skills and show off at our cook out. Units will provide Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner to our judges and Dessert must be found. Youth visit activity stations to collect your mystery dessert recipe and ingredients. Stations will be scout based but with a food twist, test your nose on our spice/herb challenge, can you guess them all? Which Unit will have the cleanest kitchen? Come have some fun and show us your cooking mettle!!
The camporee will be held from Friday, 18 October, until Sunday, 20 October. The camporee will be held on the Sembach Fields on Sembach Kaserne. Check-in will begin at 17:00 on the 18th. The event will conclude at approximately 11:00 on the 20th. All scouts registered in the Transatlantic Council are invited to attend. The registration fee is $25 per scout and $10 per adult leader and includes all program activities, two nights of camping, and a patch.
Registration will close on Tuesday, 15 October 2024.
We have enabled the use of Parent Portal. This allows the initial registration contact to provide unit parents with access to just their Scout's part of the registration, to make payments and complete data entry. Here is how it works:
- Start by clicking the Use Parent Portal checkbox.
- Print parent login credentials using one of the following two buttons.
- Give parents one login credential for each of their participants (including themselves if they're one of the participants).
- Parents use these credentials to make payments and update data entry fields such as name, rank, dietary requirements, etc.
- Please see all attachments on this registration page, including the Leader Guide.
Don't forget to download the Event Guide on this page for more details!
Leaders we are looking for 5 taste testers! We need you to taste food and inspect camps for awards. Tasters must have NO DIETARY RESTRICTIONS/ALLERGIES as we can not guarantee what is served by Units. If you are interested please contact Leah.
STAFF- Both adults and older scouts are needed to help run The Golden Pot Cook Off Camporee to include checking in, checking out, program activity stations, campfire, and administrative duties. Scouts aged 16 or older and at least Life Rank are welcome to assist. There are opportunities for older scouts to serve as camp staff and still participate in program activities with their units. If you are interested in assisting, please email Event Chair Leah Gililland. If you are a scout, please ensure your unit leader is included on the email.
CUB SCOUTS- only Arrow of Light Cub Scouts (those in 5th grade) are invited to this event.
Arrow of Light Scouts can participate and camp at a unit coordinated campout with a Scouts BSA troop they are eligible to join. They must attend as an Arrow of Light den/patrol under the supervision of two deep leadership from their Arrow of Light den/patrol or pack. All Cub Scout camping requirements still apply, including the Arrow of Light den/patrol must have a BALOO trained adult leader in attendance and all of Scouting’s Youth Protection policies apply.
Arrow of Light Scouts may participate at a Scouts BSA “camporee” (council coordinated, short-term camp, see NCAP SA-001) during the day and/or overnight in one of two ways:
With their Arrow of Light Den/Patrol. Arrow of Light Scouts can attend as an Arrow of Light den/patrol under the supervision of two deep leadership from their Arrow of Light den/patrol or pack. The Arrow of Light Scout’s parent or legal guardian(s) may attend with the Arrow of Light den/patrol and their child, either alongside the two-deep leadership or as part of it if they are registered with the pack.
As an Individual Scout. Arrow of Light Scouts can attend with their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) if the local council coordinates two deep leadership per NCAP Standard HS-502.
