PINEWOOD DERBY 

CHAMPIONSHIP RACES

SATURDAY, MARCH 14th 2026

RACE FANS! RACE FANS! RACE FANS! The Barbarossa District Pinewood Championship is ready for the starting line!  

All registered Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos and Arrow of Light are eligible to compete in the District Pinewood Derby. There will also be a Sibling/Scout BSA race.  See attached guide for Outlaw "rules"

18 cars (3 Lions, 3 Tigers, 3 Wolves, 3 Bears, 3 Webelos, 3 Arrow of Light) from each Pack will be allowed to compete at the District level.  Each Pack may specify an alternate (one from each division) in the event one of the top 3 racers from their Pack cannot compete at Districts. Scouts who race within their packs as Arrow of Light, but cross over to Scouts BSA prior to the District event may still compete at the District Race. It is the Cubmaster’s responsibility to verify eligibility. 

All cars must have been created for the 2026 Pinewood Derby. Past cars are not eligible.

Each Pack must provide the District with the names of the top 3 racers for Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos and Arrow of Light from their Pack, as well as the order of finish. The pack should also supply the name of the alternate car owner. These names should be reported prior to or by the March 1, 2026 deadline to event chair Sam Shearman (Whatsapp 541-953-6788)

YOU MAY CHOOSE 1 (ONE) ALTERNATE PER DIVISION.

The registration fee for the 2026 race will be $10.00 per registrant.  Parent Portal has been enabled so a Pack can register and pay for one car, and then send a payment link to parent of a racer.  Packs can also pay for all racers at once.

Registration & inspection begins on March 14th 2026 at 10:00AM at the Ramstein BX foodcourt. See attached schedule for specific division times.

(Remember, the event is being held on a US Military Installation. You will either need a DOD ID for access, or will need to be signed on to the base.)

Each racer will receive an event patch during check in at the event.  The top three racers of each rank will receive trophies. There will be three Grand Champion trophies for the overall top three champions.  Read the attached Race Guide PDF for more information about rules and Heat Schedules.
