The Barbarossa District  is offering an online certification training course to become Cub Scout Archery Range Officer.

• Monday, May 20- Archery Rangemaster*

The session runs from 6:00pm to 9PM CET

The class session will result in certification to run an Archery Range for council and district Cub Scout events such as Day Camps, Cub Camp Weekends, Family Camps, etc. 

The course is offered for FREE to all those adults who are interested, but first priority will be given to those who intend to staff the range at the June 10-14  Barbarossa Cub Scout Day Camp at Pulaski Park.

Registration deadline is May 19, 2024. 

Archery Rangemaster can only work with Cub Scouts and the certification expires in three years. This certification does not allow the holder to be an Archery Merit Badge Counselor. 

*According to the BSA's Guide to Advancement, only people certified as Level I Archery Instructor or higher certification can be an Archery merit badge counselor. To successfully complete the requirements to be a Level I Archery Instructor and become certified, students must successfully pass the USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Certification online course, including the online exam and register for and complete the USA Archery Level 1 Instructor practical course to officially receive a USA Archery Level 1 Instructor certificate of completion. The USA Archery Level 1 Instructor will learn about range safety, range setup, the steps of shooting, equipment and repair, programs and lesson plans and is well prepared to teach beginner archery programs to people of all ages and abilities in a variety of disciplines.

Online Course Cost: $40 (plus sales tax as applicable by state).  This is paid via the online course registration and course must be completed before taking the Archery Instructor Practical Session. Course Name: USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Online Course.
