Just when you thought it would never get cold again........WINTER STRIKES BACK! Save the date for January 15th - 18th, 2027 at Camp Shenandoah! 

Last January, we held our inaugural Winter Camp with over 150 Scouts and Scouters. We want you to be part of the sequel! WINTER CAMP II - the Winter Strikes Back.

Winter Camp will feature our Merit Badge program, the Frontiermen program for older scouts, and all the fun activities that are part of Winter Camp!

Merit Badge Classes — Registration Open!

BLOCK A — Saturday & Sunday, 9:00 AM: Artificial Intelligence, Bugling, Communication, First Aid, Home Repairs, Metalwork, Sewing & Needlework, Snow Sports, Surveying, Sustainability

BLOCK B — Saturday & Sunday, 2:00 PM: Automotive Maintenance, Basketry, Citizenship in the Nation, Digital Technology, Electricity, Emergency Preparedness, Entrepreneurship, Game Design, Search and Rescue, Signs, Signals, and Codes, Wilderness Survival, Wildland Fire Management

MONDAY MORNING — Monday, 8:00 AM: Chess, Citizenship in the Community, Disabilities Awareness, Leatherwork, Merit Badge Finish Line (Partial Makeup Clinic), Safety, Traffic Safety

FRONTIER PROGRAM — runs all weekend (Blocks A + B): an immersive frontier experience best suited for older Scouts (Star & Life Scouts looking for a different kind of weekend).

We’re also looking for Staff and Volunteers!

August 1, 2026 – Deposit opens for Virginia Headwaters Council units ($100 deposit)

October 1, 2026 – Merit Badge Guide released

October 1, 2026 – Registration opens; Merit badge selection is open when you register.

December 23, 2026 – Late Fee applies

Long-sleeve tee, short-sleeve tee, hoodie, crewneck, fleeces, watch cap, and blanket — all featuring the 2027 Winter Camp design. Pre-order by December 31, 2026; pick up your gear at the Camp Shenandoah Trading Post during Winter Camp (January 15–18, 2027).
