Get Ahead of the 2026/2027 Registration Changes!

National is rolling out massive changes to the registration and recharter processes over the coming months. We are hosting this hands-on workshop to help everyone smoothly navigate the new system, update their unit profiles, and get ahead of any recharter hurdles. Our goal is to get your unit squared away early so you aren't fielding a million questions during the busy holiday season!

Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Location: Blue Ridge Community College (Computer Room E110), Weyers Cave, VA

Who Should Attend: Unit Key 3 (Scoutmaster/Cubmaster, Committee Chair, Chartered Organization Representative), Unit Registration/Membership Chairs, and any leader assisting with recharter.

What We Will Cover We will provide step-by-step guidance on the new recharter system and discuss several major National policy updates, including:

Return to Unit Control: Scouting America is returning to unit control of member renewals. Learn how to manage approvals and what happens if a unit opts not to renew a member.

The Shift to a Common Renewal Month: Beginning September 2026, all units due for renewal will renew through February 2028 to align all charters to a common month.

The End of the Grace Period: The 60-day lapse period is being phased out and will end completely on December 31, 2026. Beginning January 1, 2027, members must be strictly current to maintain active status.

BeAScout.org Updates: Learn how to update your Unit Pin in Organization Manager with new fields (Meeting Schedules, Unit Fees, Trial Visits, etc.) to optimize the new BeAScout experience launching August 3.

New Military Family Fee Waiver: We will explain how eligible Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserve families can have their $85 National youth registration fee waived.
