Merit Badge University 2025
Merit Badge University is BACK! Join us November 15, 2025 for merit badge classes. We have an exctiting schedule this year, including both Eagle Required and Optional badges (see below for details)! Adult training will be available for leaders as well. General cost is $10/youth participant with some badges having additional costs for supplies. Bring a lunch and get ready to learn and earn badges!

Citizenship in the World: Morning and afternoon sessions available. No prerequisites.
Citzenship in the Community: Morning session. Prerequisites: 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8.
Citzenship in the Nation: Morning session. Prerequisites: 5, 7a, 7b OR 7d
Communications: Full day with a break for lunch.
First Aid: Full day with a break for lunch. No prerequisites.
Sustainability: Full day with a break for lunch. Prerequisites: 8a. Also bring a printout of the workbook found here: https://usscouts.org/mb/worksheets/Sustainability.pdf
Archaeology: Full day with a break for lunch. This class will be geared toward older scouts contemplating a staff position at Jamboree, and is also available to adults.
Movie Making: Full day with a break for lunch. No prerequisites.
Truck Transportation: Morning session. No prerequisites.
Journalism: Afternoon session. Prerequisites: Permission slip, requirement 2A (material provided by Merit Badge Counselor via event organizer)
Art: Morning session. Prerequisites: The scout should have visited an Art Gallery or Museum (write a few paragraphs about where and when they visited, and describe an object they saw and liked). Please bring 2 pieces of art you have made or pictures of art you have made.
Plumbing: Morning and afternoon sessions available. No prerequisites. $2 additional fee for supplies.
Scouting Heritage: Afternoon session. Prerequisites: 2, 5, 8 (can do at least one of these in class).
Animation: Full Day with a break for lunch. No prerequisites. $2 additional fee for supplies.
Graphic Arts: Full day with a break for lunch. This course will introduce Scouts and Leaders to silkscreen their own shirts for less than $3.00 per shirt. Units will be provided with silkscreens (front and back), a squeegee, and fabric ink so they can create their own unit class B shirts for years to come. Unit leaders should coordinate with (me) to order their blank shirts ahead of the Merit Badge University, and provide the instructor with the digital file for the unit designs. Other Activities:
Adult trainings will be available for interested leaders and parents. These will include in person and computer-lab opportunities.
What is Venturing? Quentin Peach of Pack 29/Troop 29/Troop 92/Crew 29 will be providing an information session on Venturing and Crews for the last hours of the morning and afternoon sessions. These sessions are open to all who want to learn more about "Leading the Adventure".
