Wood Badge

Event Details

The Sequoyah Council will be holding Wood Badge

April 9-11 and April 24-25 2021

The new syllabus is revised, revamped, and repackaged. Scouters who have taken Wood Badge previously may come back and take the new course. They will have to complete another ticket and cannot wear their beads at the course. This is the biggest update WB has seen in 20 years. A refresher course would not be a bad thing.

What is Wood Badge?

Wood Badge is the premier training program for the Boy Scouts of America. It teaches contemporary leadership and team development skills in an outdoor setting. Its purpose is to aid Scouters in providing a quality program that will enable scouts to grow to their greatest potential.

The course encompasses the key concepts of management from top leaders in the management field. Therefore, this course can be helpful in your career as well as in your scouting job.

The Wood Badge course will be conducted During one three-day weekends (7:30 Friday morning through Sunday afternoon 4-5 PM.) and a second weekend 7:30AM to Sunday afternoon at 4:30PM

The Wood Badge experience consists of two parts: practical training and application. Practical leadership experiences are gained in a camp setting where leadership and management skills can be learned and practiced as a patrol.

At the conclusion of practical training, each participant has a minimum of four months and a maximum of 18 months to complete the application phase (ticket) and meet all the goals that have been agreed upon during the course.
