Wood Badge 2027

The Sequoyah Council will be holding Wood Badge April 2nd-4th and April 17th-18, 2027. Attendance at both weekends is required.
The new syllabus is revised, revamped, and repackaged. Scouters who have previously taken Wood Badge may return and take the new course. They must complete another ticket and cannot wear their beads at the course.
What is Wood Badge?
Wood Badge is the premier training program for Scouting America. It teaches contemporary leadership and team development skills in an outdoor setting. Its purpose is to aid Scouters in providing a quality program that will enable scouts to grow to their greatest potential.
The course encompasses the key concepts of management from top leaders in the management field. Therefore, this course can be helpful in your career as well as in your scouting position.
The Wood Badge course will be conducted during a three-day weekend (7:30 AM Friday through Sunday at 5:00 PM) and a two-day weekend (7:30 AM Saturday to Sunday at 4:30 PM).
Wood Badge experience consists of two parts: practical training and application. Practical leadership experiences are gained in a camp setting where leadership and management skills can be learned and practiced as a patrol.
After practical training, each participant has at least four months and a maximum of 18 months to complete the application phase (ticket) and meet all the goals agreed upon during the course.
Course Cost
Participants' cost is $275; $50 deposit is due at the time of registration, with the balance due 30-days in advance. A late fee of $50 will be applied to any registration not paid by the 30-day deadline. Payment plans are available through the registration system.
